SoftWave therapy

Sound waves that wake up healing.

An advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses broad-focused acoustic waves to calm pain, reduce swelling and switch on the body’s own repair processes.

A practitioner treats a patient’s shoulder with the SoftWave applicator in a treatment room at Aptos Chiropractic.

How does it work?

Deep, broad, and gentle.

SoftWave delivers acoustic waves that travel deep into the tissues. Unlike a narrow, focused beam, the wave is broad, so it reaches a whole area at once.

Schematic cross-section: the SoftWave applicator rests on the skin and broad, curved wavefronts travel down through skin, fat, muscle and tendon toward the bone.SkinFatMuscleTendonBoneApplicator
Schematic, not to scale: broad-focused acoustic waves reach deep into injured tissue.

Why does it work?

It works with your biology.

SoftWave is designed to trigger the body’s own biological responses:

  • More stem cell activity, encouraging the body to repair itself.
  • Pain modulation, turning down pain signals for relief.
  • Better healing, supporting long-term recovery through improved tissue function.

Before your appointment

Three small things to do first.

Questions about your appointment, or ready to schedule your next session? Call us; we’re happy to help.

  • Hydrate well the day before and the day of your treatment.
  • Wear comfortable clothing: something loose, or that makes the treatment area easy to reach.
  • Keep taking your normal medications unless your provider tells you otherwise, but avoid anti-inflammatories right before treatment unless they’re prescribed. SoftWave works by stimulating your natural healing response.
